A lot of people like to think that dimming an LED installation from more than one control point on a single circuit is too complicated or can’t be done.
Here we put this problem-solving multi-point product under the spotlight, so you can see just how easy it would be to add 2 or 3-way dimming control to your next LED project.
What is it?
It’s called the ZSMARTLED and it’s the first easy fit 3-point dimming solution available on the market. Made up of one ‘master’ controller and up to two ‘slave’ controllers.
What does it do?
It dims between 5-150W/VA of LED dependent on what wattage you need to dim.
Does it need special wiring?
Nope, it can be connected directly to 3-core and earth wiring and is perfect for retrofit LED projects.
Are there any variations of the product?
The ZSMARTLED comes available as a grid, plated or module version – and comes in two colour variations (black and white).
What are the product codes?
ZGRIDMW150-2P - GRID MULTI WAY 2 POINT SET
ZGRIDMW150-2PBLK - GRID MULTI WAY 2 POINT SET BLACK
ZGRIDMW150-3P - GRID MULTI WAY 3 POINT SET
ZGRIDMW150-3PBLK - GRID MULTI WAY 3 POINT SET BLACK
ZSMARTLED WHITE PLATED
ZSPMW150-2P - SLIM PLASTIC MULTI WAY 1 GANG 2 POINT PACK
ZSPMW150-3P - SLIM PLASTIC MULTI WAY 1 GANG 3 POINT PACK
ZSMARTLED MODULES ONLY

ZMCMWCR - CENTRE SET ROTARY CONTROLLER MODULE ONLY
ZMOMW150 - OFFSET MULTI WAY MODULE ONLY 150W
ZMOMWCR - OFFSET ROTARY CONTROLLER MODULE ONLY
How does it work?
Through ground-breaking digital technology, we’ve found a way to provide simple installation of up to three rotary controllers (one master and two slaves) on a single circuit.
How do I install?
ZSMARTLED is as simple to install as any other straightforward LED dimmer. Simply program each dimmer before connecting to 3-core and earth wiring.
Common ZSMARTLED scenarios we come across
Scenario 1: Your client wants full control of their bedroom LED lighting from three points: by the door, and either side of the bed. You’ve calculated the total load of the installation (factored in inrush current) and the load is well within the 150W/VA maximum capacity of the ZSMARTLED. With the ZSMARTLED, you can install a ‘master’ switch by the bedroom door and two secondary ‘slave’ controls either side of the bed. For retrofit projects, there’s no messy rewiring: just disconnect the existing switches and fit the ZSMART in their place with 3-core and earth cable.
If you want to add multi-point LED control to a project with a much larger wattage – switch over to our ZBARLED remote dimming pack. More info on this product, here.
